Kinga Dunikowska
September 2009
Dunikowska's project description: A backyard in Tel Aviv – full of old furniture and rubbish – is the starting point for this project. Abandoned objects in a forgotten space. This place, which is the backyard of the Glasshouse, shall be TRANSFORMED into a NEW space – a "white canvas".
The old junk will be painted white, shaped into a new form.
A dinner during the Tel Aviv opening art season shall inaugurate the space as a place of encounters, a place of discussion but also of contemplation.
This work ‘NEW’ is influenced by the name of the city: ‘Tel Aviv’ which was named after Theodor Herzel’s book ‘Altneuland’- An old-new land.
