'STOP & GO'- animation screening program curated by Sarah Klein

Saturday, January 29, 2011, 9pm
'STOP & GO' at Glasshouse TLV, a screening of contemporary stop-motion animation films curated by filmaker and animator Sarah Klein from San Francisco.
The program features some of the best experimental animation films by leading Bay Area and international filmakers.
In this installment of Stop & Go, established filmmakers and visual artists unveil their most recent experiments in stop-motion animation. These pieces, whether created using traditional stop-motion techniques, time-lapse or software manipulation, capture both the sense of invention as well as their fundamentally hand-made qualities. Sourcing drawings, photos, sculptures, puppets and paintings, these animators take their building blocks, propel them on a timeline and in turn create a magical worlds.

Glasshouse@The Marina Abramovic Institute San Francisco

July 8- October 6 2010

The Israeli artist couple Lital Dotan and Eyal Perry was invited by Marina Abramovic Institute West to create their 'Glasshouse' project in San Francisco.
Lital and Eyal have created their San Francisco Glasshouse from scratch on the 7500 square foot ground floor of MAI West. Due to the size and non-domestic nature of the Institute's facilities, the challenge to transform the space into a “Glasshouse” was significant.

Their living, art production and performances are open to public during gallery hours and can be viewed from the street 24 hours a day through the glass windows of the institute.
In addition to their daily routine activities, they hold live performances events that are also available on live view online .

Marina Abramovic Institute West
575 Sutter St. San Francisco CA 94102
